Archachatina marginata(AM)
Common names . big black snail, giant African land snail, igbin. Am snails are large snails and can stay about 5 years provided its continues to feed .the shell is much less pointed than the other two species. The head of the snail is dark-grey, its foot is a lighter shade. This species is the best for commercial snail farming. The eggs are comparatively large at about 17×12cm with an average weight of 4.8g. For this reasons the numbers of eggs in a clutch are low about 4 to 18eggs per clutch

AA snails also known as tiger snails can be considered a good candidate for snail farming. It can lay over 20 eggs per clutch, but the eggs are usually smaller compared to AM. Its also needs a longer growing time to reach asexual maturity.
